Stay Cool: The Right Way to Store Concentrates

We did something cool in our stores recently—we moved our concentrates into the cooler. We already have coolers in our stores to keep beverages cold and ready to consume, but we felt concentrates deserved a place in there too, and here is why.

Cannabis concentrates are far more volatile in warm spaces. The degradation of potency, taste and effects can happen a lot quicker in concentrates than it does with dried flower. There is more to perceived potency than just THC, terpenes also play a major role. Some of the terpenes that have an effect on a high are volatile, especially at warmer temperatures. These terpenes can evaporate or degrade when heated, so storing in a cool place can ensure these terpenes are preserved.

The bottom line: keeping our concentrates cold minimizes any type of degradation before we sell it to you.

Types of concentrates that can benefit from being stored cool:

  • Rosin

  • Shatter

  • Wax

  • Badder

  • Live resin

  • Diamonds
