oils & capsules

Oils are a discreet, concise way to consume cannabis and are widely appealing as they don’t require any combustion to consume.

Oils and ingestibles are just like edibles, sans the delicious additions. The onset period is longer (one+ hours) and they are processed by the liver which results in a longer and stronger high.

These tasteless cannabis concentrates can easily be added to your food, consumed in liquids or as is. Unlike edibles, there is no maximum amount of THC per package. Edibles are regulated to only contain 10 mg of THC per package.

While capsules are pre-dosed and take all the guesswork out, oils require a little more precision. Each oil package should come with a dropper to make controlling the dose much easier. The bottle will display the concentration in mg/ml and the dropper provided will either be a 1 ml dropper, or show the volume of the dropper itself. If an oil is 20mg/ml, you may only want a mild dose of 5 mg, so you would simply consume ¼ ml to ensure your desired dose.

metabolic pathway

  1. The oil is ingested in the mouth and travels to
    the stomach.

  2. The oil is moved through the stomach and sent to the small intestine where the fat-soluble Delta-9-THC is absorbed.

  3. The Delta-9-THC is absorbed and then sent into the liver via the hepatic portal system. In the liver Delta-9-THC is converted to 11-OH-THC and released into the blood.

  4. The 11-OH-THC moves through the bloodstream to the brain where it crosses through the blood brain barrier more freely than smoked THC. These cannabinoids interact with the brain and body to provide their enjoyable effects.
